TAPS Peer Mentor Program
Having a TAPS Peer Mentor means you'll never walk alone. TAPS is committed to sharing the grief journey with you, walking alongside you for as long as you need. Whether you're further along in your grief journey and ready to support another survivor, or newly bereaved and reaching for hope, the peer-to-peer model of survivors helping survivors has proven to be healing and elevate hopefulness.
The TAPS Peer Mentor Program equips survivors, at least 18 months past their loss, with the tools and skills needed to serve as a mentor to fellow survivors looking for support from someone who truly understands the unique aspects of military tragedy and who has walked in their shoes. A peer mentor is there to listen when you need someone to talk to, to be a friend when you're feeling lonely, and to celebrate the personal triumphs in your grief journey.
