You are warmly invited to join TAPS for a special retreat for all those grieving the loss of a spouse or significant others who served in the Armed Forces.

Charleston Widows Retreat 2
Find hope along this journey and experience the support that comes from shared loss as we gather with fellow surviving widows, fiancees and significant others in a peaceful and serene setting. Throughout the event, we’ll connect with each other through activities and quiet moments of reflection, and together we’ll find strength to move toward healing.

Important Information

Thanks to the generosity of our donors and sponsors, TAPS will provide lodging, most meals and all activity costs. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide transportation to and from the retreat.

A $50 deposit will be collected at the time of registration. At the conclusion of the retreat, you may choose to donate this deposit to TAPS to support future programs; otherwise it will be fully refunded to attendees.

Registration opens Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 12 p.m. EST. A link will be posted above. Registration is conducted on a first-come, first-served basis; a waitlist will form once registration has reached capacity. Please keep in mind that we hold a number of spots on each event for first-time attendees, so PLEASE do not be discouraged if you are sent to the waitlist. For every retreat, we will pull people from the waitlist within the first few weeks after registration opens. You will receive notification via email if a spot becomes available for you.

Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation email. Within 48 hours, you will receive a welcome email from TAPS Retreats staff that includes information about accommodations, flights, etc. Please complete the Adult Intake Form, Release Form and Code of Conduct Form as soon as possible by following the "View/Change Registration" link in your confirmation email. Please do NOT book your flight until you receive the welcome email.

Registration Confirmation: Email support@taps.org and retreats@taps.org if you DO NOT receive a confirmation email after registering.

We ask that survivors register for one retreat or expedition per 12 months. If you have previously attended a retreat or expedition in the past 12 months we're so excited that you want to come back; however, we ask that you wait to register 24 hours after registration has opened for this event to allow the opportunity for first-time retreat attendees to register.

If this is your first time connecting with TAPS, we welcome you to the TAPS family. We strive to create relationships with each survivor who reaches out to us. Before receiving your welcome email, you can expect to hear from a member of our Survivor Care Team, who will welcome you and answer any questions you may have about programs.

If you have any questions, please email retreats@taps.org or call 800-959-8277.

Registration for this event is now FULL. Click the link above to register for the first-come, first-served wait list. You will be contacted via email if a spot becomes available.

We ask that survivors register for one Retreat or Expedition per 12 months. If you have attended a Retreat or Expedition in the past 12 months, you will initially be placed on the wait list.
