Ellen Andrews

Ellen Andrews currently serves as the TAPS DoD MoA Liaison and Online Care Coordinator. In this capacity, Ellen coordinates with casualty offices under the Memorandum of Agreement. TAPS partnership with the casualty offices allows for expedited outreach to newly bereaved families and connection to TAPS programs, grief resources and support. As Online Care Coordinator, Ellen oversees and moderates chat rooms, message boards, online peer groups, and forums. She also serves on the editorial board for TAPS Magazine.

Ellen serves as mistress of ceremonies for the TAPS National Military Survivor Seminar and Good Grief Camp, providing welcome remarks, conducting general sessions attended by hundreds of survivors, as well as introducing guest speakers, including senior government and military leaders.

Ellen draws upon her own personal experience to assist others. She was engaged to Navy Lieutenant David J. Huber, who was killed in an air accident off the coast of Corpus Christi, Texas shortly before their wedding in 1995.

After serving as a volunteer with TAPS for several years, Ellen became an official staff member in 2008. Prior to coming on board with TAPS, Ellen worked in the financial and banking industry, primarily in the area of business services; working with customers for lending and deposit needs and serving as an internal administrator for Business/Community Banking operations for the North Florida area with Regions Bank (f/k/a AmSouth Bank).

Ellen attended Gulf Coast Community College with focused studies in history and journalism. She is active in civic and community organizations; volunteering for groups such as the American Red Cross, American Heart Association; has served as a Loaned Executive for the United Way, and is a member of the Bay County Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee.

Ellen was the recipient of the Thomas G. Carroll Distinguished Service Award in 2003 for her work with TAPS.
