TAPS Partners with Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation to Better Serve Children of America’s Fallen Military Service Members
The Organizations Will Collaborate to Ensure Survivors Have Access to All the Educational Support and Compassionate Care They Need

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) and the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding today to formalize the organizations’ shared commitment to assisting the children of our nation’s fallen military heroes. The organizations will collaborate to ensure surviving children have access to all the resources, care and support they need to cope with their loss and have a successful future.

TAPS and Fallen Patriots are both non-profit organizations serving the population of Americans who have lost a loved one who served in the Armed Forces. TAPS provides compassionate care and survivor support services to all those grieving the loss of a military loved one. Fallen Patriots provides college scholarships and educational counseling to surviving children who have lost a parent in the line of duty. The education-related work of both organizations is made possible by the generous support of the Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund.
"This agreement formalizes what has been a long-standing, working partnership between TAPS and Fallen Patriots,” said TAPS Founder and President Bonnie Carroll at the signing ceremony at TAPS headquarters in Arlington, Va. “The services provided by TAPS and Fallen Patriots are complimentary, and through this data-sharing agreement, both organizations will have an even greater capacity to reach survivors and provide life-changing services.”
Under the agreement, TAPS and Fallen Patriots will exchange information on the students and families they serve to connect survivors with additional support and resources. Eligible individuals seeking the services of either organization will have the opportunity to “opt in” to share their information with the other organization, thereby expanding the pool of available resources.
“This partnership is important because it helps us work together to provide holistic care for our students and families,” said Kenzi Vizzari, Fallen Patriots’ Enrollment Coordinator in charge of the foundation’s student outreach and awareness work. “It allows us to do the legwork so our families have one less thing to worry about and it will help us reach more kids who need our funding to go to the school of their dreams.”
