Carla Stumpf-Patton, EdDLMHCNCC, FTCCTPCarla supports survivors of suicide loss as the Senior Director of Suicide Postvention at TAPS. Carla is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Certified Fellow of Thanatology, and professional member of the American Association of Suicidology and Association for Death Education and Counseling. She holds a bachelor’s in psychology, a master’s in professional mental health counseling, and a Doctorate of Education, for which she completed her dissertation research on military families bereaved by suicide.

Susan Starnes, LCSW-C
Susan works with the Maryland Air National Guard as the Wing Director of Psychological Health. She supports service members and their families to improve and maintain their mental wellness. Ms. Starnes is a Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical, where she holds both a bachelor's and master's degree in Social Work. Susan is a surviving military spouse who has participated along with her children in TAPS programs for bereaved military families. She has since remarried, where she is raising a blended family along with her spouse.
