Parent Survivors
You gave life and nurturing love to a child. You watched with pride as that child grew into an adult. You are now facing the unbearable loss of your child. TAPS is here to provide you a connection to other surviving parents of military members who share your perspective; the pain of losing a child, more often than not, at a very young age. On this page you'll find resources including blogs by fellow surviving parents, articles from the TAPS Magazine, and most importantly, ways to connect with other surviving parents whether it be online, in person, or over the phone to find a community of others who understand what you're going through.

Losing Todd, A Mother's Journey
By Jeanne Harris Weaver, surviving mother of First Lieutenant Todd Weaver

TAPS Magazine |

Three days after our son First Lieutenant Todd Weaver was killed, I walked the beach near our home, not knowing whether I had the physical strength to keep my legs moving or whether I would collapse onto the sand. I walked, searching for peace in my heart and some degree of comfort or understanding.
