Our Stories: General Grief
McCaddon, Leslie

Self Care
By Leslie McCaddon, surviving spouse of CPT Mike McCaddon, MD

TAPS Magazine | One of the things I heard early on at TAPS, as well as from my counselor at home, is the importance of self-care. I’m a mother of three young children. Whenever this term “self-care” is thrown around in my presence I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

TAPS Blog | Before my husband died, Memorial Day was just another 3 day weekend that we got to celebrate his birthday (May 29th) with a fun adventure.  I never really thought about the importance of it and just enjoyed our time together.  Since his death however, Memorial Day has taken on a whole new meaning.
