Tina Saari

Program Director, Survivor Seminars & Good Grief Camps (Child Programs)

Tina SaariTina Saari is an army wife stationed at Ft. Hood, TX with her husband, a Blackhawk pilot, who recently returned from his second tour in Iraq. She holds a BS from Texas A&M University and has also acquired an Early Childhood Education certificate. While at Ft. Hood she serves on the 1st Air Cavalry Brigade's CARE Team and GO Team responding to families' of casualties during the current division deployment. She serves on the Ft. Hood Women's Conference Board as well as volunteering time to work with the children and families of our Wounded Warriors at their retreats. Tina works with soldiers every month at Ft. Hood briefing them about coping with casualties and what the TAPS program has to offer during the Casualty Assistance Officer classes and the Casualty Notification Officer classes as well as working closely with the Post Installation Chaplains. She also works with the divisions at Ft. Hood and the family readiness groups to assist them in coping with their current casualties. Tina has worked briefing GO and CARE Teams, steering committees, FRG groups and military organizations about grief and bereavement and TAPS.

 
She has worked with TAPS for over 4 years concentrating on the Youth Program. She currently serves as a Regional Director for the TAPS Regional Seminars and Camps being held across the country as well as the Ft. Hood representative for TAPS. During the past four years she has worked at the last 3 annual Good Grief Camps held in May, helping in organizing, planning and serving as a group leader. Since November of 2006, Tina has served as a co-director in working with the regional seminars held across the US around large military installations.
