Held in the heart of Montgomery County's horse country, the Potomac Hunt Races is an annual tradition, celebrating the sport of steeplechase racing. Amidst the thrill of thundering hooves and soaring horses, race day festivities include a car display, mounted police demonstrations, a Kid's Zone, stick races and vendor row.
TAPS is the charity beneficiary of this exciting Equestrian event!
For optimum tailgating, railside passes must be purchased in advance. The Potomac Hunt also offers sponsorship tents for companies wishing to entertain clients and/or employees. Enjoy the camaraderie of friends and colleagues, the beauty of nature, and the majesty of the equine athletes — all within the pristine rolling fields of the Kiplinger estate in Poolesville, Maryland.
Visit the Kid Zone and children of all ages can participate in stand up paddle boarding and kayaking in the pond. Also offered are farm fun activities that will provide kids with a completed project to take home or they can climb on the rock wall and compete in the obstacle course!
Once you're here, sit back, relax, and enjoy the adrenaline rush of the racing horses!

Want to help by volunteering at the races?
TAPS is looking for volunteers to assist in manning the gates, collecting money, and taking tickets at this year's Potomac Hunt Race. We will have two shifts of 16 volunteers, for a total of 32 people. For each shift, the four gates will be covered by three people each, and four people will direct traffic. The hours are 8:00-4:00 for both shifts.
