teams4taps is thrilled to announce a special opportunity to honor our heroes with the New York Yankees on June 30, 2016, in New York City!
As part of the TAPS Field of Dreams Day, 20 young survivors ages 6 to 13 will be paired with a Yankees starting player to take the field for the national anthem prior to the game. Kids will then join their families in the stands and watch the ball game as guests of the Yankees.
This is a special way to honor your child's loved one, and teams4taps is looking for TAPS children who share a connection to the Yankees.
We ask each applicant to submit a story about your child's or loved one's connection to the Yankees. A lottery will be used to select families, however, priority will be given to those who have not attended a prior Yankees event with teams4taps. TAPS is honored to provide this experience for children grieving the loss of a parent, sibling or immediate family member in the Armed Forces. Those under the age of 6 or above the age of 13 will not be eligible to participate on field.
You do not have to live near New York City to apply, but please be aware that you will be responsible for all transportation and accommodations for the event. teams4taps will provide the Field of Dreams experience and tickets to the baseball game. If you are not local, TAPS will require proof of travel documents (arriving in New York by Wednesday, June 29) before confirming your attendance at this event.
If you have questions, please contact teams4taps at teams4taps@taps.org or call 800-959-8277.
