Week 6: I Spy
Week 6: I Spy
Week 6: I Spy
At our TAPS Good Grief and Family Camp at Home you will have a chance to experience the wonderful activities we perform at our campouts, to get connected with your family through challenges, and to engage with others by sharing your challenge experience on social media, and coming together for a live Zoom chat and activity with your TAPS family!
I spy, you spy, we all spy... something different? This week at camp we encourage you to look at things from a different point of view. We will draw on the incredible eye of spies to provide you with activities and opportunities to investigate why and how things can be viewed from many perspectives.

Activity Videos
Our group leaders have created some amazing and fun activities for you to do anytime from home!
The I-spy bottle is a perfect activity for the entire family and for all ages. You could take a picture of all the items located in the bottle for the kids to find, or the older kids could flip it over and try to figure out the items based on the rhyme.
Activity Presented by: Celeste Arriaga

Words That Define Me is based on the real and common experience we all have to be called or thought of with words that are not kind, not flattering, and generally negative. In this activity we will identify those unkind words and work to meaningfully disregard them. We replace those words with other positive words that exemplify the best things we will aspire to live for and become.

Activity Booklet
We know this summer can get very busy with computer assignments or dance classes, or connecting with relatives who live far away. So we created this booklet filled with fun activities that anyone can do and from anywhere. Maybe outside under the shade of a tree, or in your room during a raining day. We know you will have fun with this activity booklet, from the crossword puzzle to the additional recipes and challenges, it is something the whole family can enjoy!
Family Challenge
I Spy!
Play I spy with your family. One player will choose an object within eyesight and will announce it to the other players, “eye spy with my little eye, something Green!” The other players will attempt to spy the same object. The fun is in guessing all the possibilities and exploring other team members' perspectives, what do they consider something green. Using your detective work, find all of the items or create your own list!

We challenge you to play hide and seek with clues, this game can be played with 2 or more people. Create a riddle full of clues for your hiding place or you can hide your Flat Mentor! Provide your clues to other players, allow time to hide either yourself or your Flat Mentor. If you are the seeker, use your spy skills to locate every player.

Family Dinner Night!
Ever been told, don’t play with your food? Well this week we encourage you to discover different ways to look at your food.
How can you not get tangled in the maze of your Spy-Ghetti noodles? What do you see through your magnifying glass cookies? Whose fingerprint made it on the plate, and why does pie always look so delicious?!
Recipe Ideas: Select image below for individual recipes.
Table Topics:
- What did you see this week that sparked your curiosity?
- Who is your favorite spy and why?
- Name something on the table that looks like it could be something else (eg. spoon looks like a small shovel)
- As a family, pick something to focus on and share what each of you see and ask what is the same for everyone and what is different?
