This group meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 8 p.m. Eastern.
The TAPS Young Adults Program is gathering to have open, candid conversation about grief. Hosts and topics will rotate throughout the year. See "Who Should Join" section below for more information.
Register early! To ensure the size of the group allows for strong friendships and connections, space is limited. Registration is on a first come, first served basis.
Please join us in this safe space for surviving young adults to share, learn, grow, heal, connect and even laugh together. As we have candid conversations about grief, loss and how things have impacted the transition into adulthood.
TAPS wants you to know that you are not alone in your journey. The healing power of sharing with someone who you can relate to, makes a positive difference. Strangers quickly become friends. We come from all regions across the country, all branches of service, and all circumstances of heartbreak. We also come with hobbies, passions, hopes and dreams for our futures to plan.
Join us as we all explore topics such as: emotional and social expressions of grief, changes in family dynamics, expectations of self and others, challenges of grief, and the journey through it all.
"TAPS is the family nobody wants, but that everybody needs." ~ TAPS Young Adult Survivor
WHAT'S INCLUDED
The group meeting includes:
- Group Zoom Session: Each meeting will be 90 minutes in duration and will utilize a rotation of hosts and topics introduced by a short podcast or TedTALK for the first 15 minutes; with the remainder of time being for a robust, candid full group discussion. EXPECTATIONS AND TIME COMMITMENT
We ask that you commit time to this group just as you would if we could travel to be together. Of course, we'll have grace with ourselves and each other, but we'll expect you to make the effort to create a sanctuary for yourself in your own space. We encourage you to create a covenant of accountability and support with yourself and your fellow surviving young adults.
Plan to block out 2 hours each month to participate.
We recommend blocking a few minutes before and spend some easy time with yourself after we conclude each 90-minute zoom session.
