TAPS Families at 2019 NFL Pro Bowl Experience

TAPS Families at 2019 NFL Pro Bowl Experience

Event Overview

TAPS youth (7-18) and their families, will be hosted by TAPS and the National Football League (NFL) for a weekend of youth-related events including: watching an NFL Practice/Skills showdown, spending time at Disney World, lunches and dinners with TAPS families – as well as attending the 2024 NFL Pro Bowl Games at Camping World Stadium. Families will also have time to spend with each other as we reflect on and remember our fallen heroes.

Lodging and Transportation

Flights, lodging, tickets, as well as group activities and group meals will be provided through generous support from the NFL. Families will stay at Shades of Green, the Armed Forces Recreation Center (AFRC) Resort at Walt Disney World. Attendees will be responsible for any incidentals, snacks, souvenirs, etc.

Important Information

Although TAPS would love for all TAPS survivors to attend, we have a very limited number of spots available. For this reason, if we have more entries than we have spots available, a random selection will take place to determine attendance.

Please note the following eligibility rules to make sure that this is the event for you:

  • This experience is intended for those military loss survivors whose loss occurred more than three years ago and who have attended previous TAPS events. If you are within two years of your loss, we encourage you to attend a TAPS Together, TAPS Regional Seminar and/or the TAPS National Military Survivor Seminar.

  • This opportunity is for children and youth who have lost an immediate family member in the Armed Forces. TAPS kids must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or by a surviving adult family member with permission from their parent/guardian.

  • Families can have a minimum of two (2) and a maximum of five (5) surviving family members per Fallen Hero, for this event. Any additional family members outside of the TAPS child(ren) and parent/guardian must also be a surviving family member.

  • All participants must be at least seven (7) years of age, or older, at the time of the event (February 1, 2024).

  • Families must commit to attending all group activities and meals and participate fully, to the best of their abilities, to be eligible for this trip.

  • All attendees agree to abide by all COVID-19 policies, as well as other health and safety protocols, in order to take part in this event. Each attendee participating in this event, including children, must be willing to submit proof of a negative COVID test 24 hours prior to their arrival on site at the event. Should there be any changes with regard to health and safety protocols for this event, all participants will be required to abide by these policies as dictated by TAPS, the NFL, and local and state government.

  • • Those surviving families who have previously attended a trip or event via TAPS Sports & Entertainment where flights, lodging, meals, etc., have been provided (including those who have attended the 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, or 2022 NFL Pro Bowl Experience, or the 2023 Nevada Survivor Experience with teams4taps) are not eligible to participate. Please note: this does NOT include TAPS National or Regional Military Survivor Seminars.

  • All applicants will be notified by Friday, December 8, 2023.
