Online Workshop Series: Reasons for the Seasons

add to outlook calendar add to gmail calendar December 9 - 30, 2024
For Military and Veteran Survivors Only
Registration Close Date: December 30, 2024

Meets every Monday for 4 sessions from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Eastern

These standalone workshop series are great ways to shore up your own resilience this December — and to give yourself the gift of hearing from others who may be feeling some of the same things you are. Grief can amplify the ways in which the holidays can be stressful and the ways the holidays can be special, so each of these sessions will address grief and the holidays in a different way. We invite you to choose what speaks most to you.

Snowmen and Holiday Place Setting

Beyond the general stress that we may feel (more social engagements! financial outlays! loneliness!), there also may be the general ache that comes from acknowledging the differences in your life from year to year — we will talk through this in week 1. If you're experiencing pressure from others or from yourself to feel or behave a certain way during the month of December — or if you're just frustrated and you aren't sure exactly why - join us during weeks 1 and 4. Because we know that some may find relief and comfort in religious beliefs and traditions, we will focus on this in Week 3. Those who aren’t at home in a faith practice, or who feel alienated from or uncomfortable with religious holidays, may especially enjoy Week 2.

  • Week 3, December 23:
