Tampa Young Adults Heroes Journey Storytelling Experience
The TAPS Young Adults Experience offers one-of-a-kind opportunities across the country to TAPS Survivors ages 18 to 30. These experiences promote care, peer connection and personal well-being. In building a Community of peers, we offer survivors a safe space to be themselves, have fun, and focus on well-being and personal development.
Overview
The TAPS Tampa Young Adult Heroes Journey Storytelling Experience is offered to our Survivors ages 18 to 30, at no expense, February 28 to March 2, 2025. Participants will join us in exciting Tampa, Florida as we lean into our focus of self-discovery and self-care through creative expression. We are partnering with The Heroes Journey for a storytelling workshop, while also offering attendees some unique opportunities for personal reflection and growth. Survivors will also have time to relax, connect and build community.
Schedule
Friday, February 28: Participants will arrive to check-in at the hotel and get settled. Programming begins with our welcome dinner Friday evening. Survivors will have time to connect and lean into their creative sides with some evening activities.
Saturday, March 1: Survivors will participate in a guided workshop with the team from Heroes Journey, focused on storytelling. This impactful experience has been transformative for previous survivors who attended and we are excited to offer it again. That evening, we will have a few creative expression activities such as song writing, drawing, design and more to develop tools for self-care.
Sunday, March 2: Survivors will spend the morning looking forward and developing some final tools for the “self-care toolkit.” Attendees will depart at lunch.
Event Fees
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, TAPS is able to provide lodging, meals, activities and supplies for all attendees. TAPS Young Adults Program staff will be in contact after applicants have been approved and registered.
Lodging will be provided in Tampa, Florida for all attendees from Friday to Sunday. You'll share a room with other event attendees. TAPS covers the cost of lodging.
Attendees will need to cover the cost of your transportation to and from the event. Please do not make travel arrangements until you are contacted after registering.
Application Details
Applications will be open from January 8 to February 23, 2025 (look for the blue button at top of this page at that time). Applicants will be notified of selection or waitlist status by the. Applicants not initially selected to attend will be placed on a waitlist and notified as space becomes available.
