Online Spring Series: New to Grief
Survivors who are less than three years out from their loss are invited to our New To Grief series. We'll talk through what grief looks and feels like, explore some of our secondary losses, and share the ways we've been able to find some comfort (and the ways we're still searching for it). Together, we'll be able to share, listen, and learn; most of all, we'll create a space where we all feel comforted and supported.
Schedule
- Tuesday, April 5 - 7 p.m. Eastern*
- Tuesday, April 12 - 7 p.m. Eastern
- Tuesday, April 19 - 7 p.m. Eastern
*While attending all three sessions is strongly encouraged to get the most out of this program, attendance at the first session is required. During this first session, we will become acquainted with one another and begin building connections which will carry us through this series and beyond.
What to Expect
Sessions in the New to Grief series will be between 60 to 90 minutes long. They will occur once a week for three weeks. We encourage participants to prioritize attending all three of the sessions in the series.
This is an interactive workshop series. We’ll touch on some of the myths about grief, help explain some of the mental and cognitive changes associated with it, and talk with others who have some of the same questions and frustrations.
Each week’s focus will be introduced with a 10 to 15 minute educational session, followed by time for reflection, small group sharing (and/or listening), and time to think about what’s been discussed. You’ll log off with a renewed sense of belonging and some practical tools to carry you through the week.
Community Guidelines
We ask that you log onto Zoom 5 minutes prior to each session as we will start our online group promptly at start time listed above. Please review our Community Guidelines to one another in advance of joining. Admission to each session will close to admission at 10 minutes after the start time.
How to Register
Registration will be open from March 1 through April 4, 2022, (look for the blue button at the top of this page during this time). If the spring series doesn’t feel like the right time for you, we’ll be offering this again in August and October 2022.
