TAPS is pleased to announce that it has been honored with a prestigious 2017 Top-Rated Award by GreatNonprofits, the leading provider of user reviews about nonprofit organizations.
“We are excited to be named a Top-Rated 2017 Nonproft,” says Bonnie Carroll, TAPS President and Founder. “We are humbled that so many of our survivors and volunteers took time to tell others how the TAPS mission has impacted their lives.”
In fact, over 100 volunteers, donors and family members honoring the loss of someone in military service took time to share their personal experience with TAPS on the GreatNonprofits website. Their positive reviews earned TAPS a top rating award as one of the earliest charity organizations to qualify for 2017.
One military loss survivor said, “During that first month as our family let the reality of my brother’s loss sink in, TAPS was there with a phone call letting us know that we weren't alone. TAPS sent us a caring resource kit, filled with heartfelt thoughts and information about the organization which would become our second family.”
Year after year, private donors, corporations and grant funders choose to help fund the TAPS mission of offering hope and healing to military families grieving the loss of someone in military service for America. TAPS receives no government or direct military funding and relies solely on the generosity of individuals and businesses who believe in TAPS. Because of their support, we have helped over 70,000 family members, loved ones and battle buddies since TAPS was founded in 1994.
TAPS recognizes that donors and volunteers value the assurance and confidence they have knowing we are a credible military nonprofit that adheres to the highest charity fundraising standards. This award is a form of recognition by that community for the trusted position TAPS holds in this space.
