Video: Engaging Empathy in the Workplace - A Guide for Grievers
Presenter: Rachel Kodanaz
Often a sad employee is perceived to be a bad employee, yet all employees will cope with sadness and grief due to death and non-death loss at some point in their career. An employee who is overwhelmed by grief often feels a discouraging lack of support when transitioning back to the workplace, whether their return is in-person or virtually.
Learn effective ways to advocate for yourself as you head to your workplace after a brief absence, a long absence, or for the first time following a loss. Setting boundaries and knowing how to respond to potentially hurtful or stressful situations at work will help to foster the empathy that most fellow co-workers and employers want to provide.
