Michael Janus

Mr. Janus has been with Battelle for over 25 years and currently serves as the Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Environment & Infrastructure Business Unit. Mike leads the operations and financial performance of this $400M business unit with over 1600 staff located throughout the world. In this role, he is responsible for delivering technology-based solutions across a diverse set of clients to include the US Departments of Defense, Homeland Security, Energy, and Transportation, as well as the National Science Foundation, the Environmental Protection Agency, and Fortune 500 companies. Mike has been honored to work with our military forces for over two decades addressing issues from force protection to chemical demilitarization to environmental cleanup. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Northeast Maryland Technology Council, Battelle United Kingdom Limited, and Battelle Ecology Incorporated in addition to Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors and other local and regional boards promoting education.
Mike has published numerous journal articles and book chapters throughout his career and holds 3 U.S. patents in the defense and energy sectors. Mike holds a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia University, and an M.B.A. from University of Pittsburgh.
