At the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), we understand that the families of fallen military and veteran service members will carry their losses forever. As they grow, surviving children will miss the parent they lost at grand milestones — like birthdays and graduations, but at those quiet milestones as well — learning to tie shoes, shave, and all the accomplishments in between. We thank GilletteLabs through this NFL Salute to Service Initiative for supporting and spotlighting our Military Mentor program. Military Mentors — service members and veterans who walk alongside the children of fallen heroes — are at the heart of the TAPS tradition of teaching surviving sons to shave. We are grateful for Gillette's dedication to the TAPS mission and the families we serve. Together, we heal.
