Ashlynne Haycock-Lohmann, Deputy Director, TAPS Government and Legislative Affairs presents TAPS Statement for the Record on issues of importance to the 120,000-plus surviving family members of all ages, representing all services, and with losses from all causes who TAPS is honored to serve at the January 30, 2024, Legislative Hearing before the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs , Full Committee Oversight Hearing. Also testifying is surviving spouse Kaanan Mackey-Fugler's personal story which supports passing comprehensive legislation to allow surviving spouses to retain their benefits following remarriage and to fix processing claims issues with Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC) .
